Welcome to the Cognitive Science Lab at the University
of Richmond. Cognitive science is an interdisciplinary study of
how the mind works, involving approaches from cognitive psychology,
linguistics, artificial intelligence, philosophy, and neuroscience.
The purpose of our site is to promote cognitive
research and teaching within the University and beyond, and to provide
an avenue for internal and international collaborations among faculty,
students, and researchers.
Research in our lab focuses on the representation,
processing, and acquisition of language. Current research projects
include the development of self-organizing neural network models
of language acquisition, the study of bilingual language learning
and representation, and crosslinguistic studies of language processing
with neuroimaging techniques. Other ongoing projects include the
compilation of the Handbook of East Asian Psycholinguistics and
the development of web resources for psycholinguistics. For more
details about these projects, please click on items on the right. |
